Taipei, Nov. 21 (CNA) Taiwanese table tennis player Chuang Chih-yuan won the Swiss Table Tennis Open in Lausanne Sunday after defeating top-seed Oh Sang-eun of South Korea.

The world No. 14, seeded second in the tournament, won 7-11, 11-7, 8-11, 13-11, 11-5, 11-6 to secure his second international title this year after a win at the Chile Open in August.

Chuang, who made it directly into the main draw of the second-tier event (one that is not part of the official table tennis pro tour), only had to win three matches in the tournament to take the title.

The Taiwanese veteran, who hopes to compete in the London Olympics in 2012, pocketed 6,000 Swiss francs (NT$197,410) for winning the event (by Lung Bo-an and Scully Hsiao) Enditem/ls.
