THE Fiji Table Tennis Association will stage the Fiji Open tournament in Nadi next month for the very first time after a lapse of 40 years.

In development wise, FTTA president Anthony Ho believes this is a major boost towards the promotion of the sport across the country.

Ho said they wanted to rebuild and revive the sport in Nadi.

He said the milestone would further attract the interest amongst young players.

"Having Fiji Open in Nadi after a lapse of over 40 years is a great boost in the development of our sports to a wider cross section of our communities," he said.

Meanwhile players from Australia and New Zealand are expected to grace the tournament.
