Table Tennis New Zealand confirms Table Tennis Manawatu as the new host for the 2011 Senior Nationals, which will be held in Palmerston North. TTNZ is committed to providing a quality tournament, to be enjoyed by everyone who wishes to be involved. We are reassured by the huge efforts of Steve Paterson, Shona Cudby and the rest of the Table Tennis Manawatu team in making this possible at short notice. The 2011 North Island Champs are testimony to their ability to put on a great event.

The original dates of 12th to 16th October remain unchanged and the event timetable will be finalised shortly. A new entry form, with some modifications, will be published and distributed in the near future. We hope to see you there, and endorse the following statement from Table Tennis Chairperson, Steve Paterson:

"Table Tennis Manawatu (TTM) is pleased to have been selected as the replacement venue for the 2011 Senior Nationals. TTM recognises the disappointment which is being felt by those in Canterbury who are no longer able to fulfil their dream of hosting the event in their City this year. However TTM believes it is important for NZ table tennis that the senior national event is staged at the time originally scheduled and has therefore offered to fill the hosting gap.

Ideally TTM would like to have had a longer lead time for it to plan a successful event but in the circumstances that was not possible. By agreeing to host the event TTM is exposing itself to some financial risk. This risk will be mitigated by having a large number of registrants.TTM Chairperson Steve Paterson urges everyone to demonstrate support by registering as early as possible. TTM is determined to make the event a success and the stay in Palmerston North a memorable one."
