An island country in Micronesia in the South Pacific; Nauru is the world's smallest republic; furthermore, It is the second least populated country in the world.

Less than 10,000 inhabitants, the only country in the world with a smaller population is the Vatican City. The total area is a mere 21 square kilometres; not much space but table tennis, when compared with other sports, does not need much space.

Therefore, Nauru is ideal for table tennis and to promote the sport in the Pacific island, Michael Brown, the Oceania Development Officer, recently visited the island to conduct a Technical Course and found a quite unique venue to stage proceedings.
