Britain's number one table tennis player Andrew Baggaley insists there are signs for optimism after coming up against China's big guns at the ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals.

China enjoys the sort of dominance in table tennis that is scarcely seen, having scooped 20 of 24 gold medals since the sport was introduced to the Olympic Games programme at Seoul 1988.

Baggaley, along with England's number-one Liam Pitchford, came up against some of their finest, losing a quarter-final doubles match against Ma Lin and Zhang Jike 4-1, but he insists they are beatable.
