Ball hoping to advance Games case

posted Mar 13, 2013, 2:01 PM by Gina Connell

If the New Zealand table tennis team can turn a few heads in India next month, Manawatu's Matt Ball could find himself off to the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Ball is competing at the Commonwealth Championships tournament in Delhi, India, from May 5 to 10, while Palmerston North's Natalie Paterson is in the women's team.

New Zealand sent a women's team but not a men's to the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, and Ball said the men were trying to get some results which would sway the New Zealand Olympic Committee into sending them to Glasgow next year.
