Premier event North Harbour Open

This year’s premier event the North Harbour Open was held on Sunday 18th August at the North Harbour Table Tennis Stadium.  Players represented North Harbour, Wellington, Waikato, Counties Manukau, Waitemata, Auckland and Northland.

The Open Women’s Singles was won by Sarah Her-Lee (Auckland) who has now won this title four times.  Sarah was also runner-up in the Open Mixed Doubles with Oliver Scarlett (Auckland) see pictured.  Oliver won the Open Men’s Singles beating Daniel Delburgo (Waikato), and combined with Aaron Gong to win the Open Men’s Doubles title.

The largest entry came in the Under 13 Boy’s category with seven players representing North Harbour; seven players from Waitemata and players from Auckland and Wellington.  Alex Mei and Jack Sun performed well making the semi-finals of the U13 Boy’s Singles.  North Harbour dominated in the girl’s events with Veronica Li winning the U17 and U15 Girls Singles, Sam Sun the U19 Girls Singles and Iris Liu winning the U13 Girl’s Singles.  Jocelyn Lim was runner up in the U17 Girls Singles and Irene Liu runner up in the U19 Girls Singles.

Terry Cockfield – Finalist in 070 Mens Singles

Andrew Mei – Finalist in U15 Mixed Doubles

Nicholas Lin – Finalist in U15 Mixed Doubles

Jocelyn Lim – Finalist in U17 Girls Singles

Irene Liu – Finalist in U19 Girls Singles

Alex Mei – Semi-finalist in U13 Boys Singles

Jack Sun – Semi-finalist in U13 Boys Singles
